all about the Gender Pay Gap

Come and join the League of Women Voters and its coalition partners for this virtual discussion. This event focusing on the Gender Pay Gap will take place on Women’s Equality Day. This is the first in a series of action-oriented events during the 100th Year of Women’s Suffrage focused on closing the gender pay gap. It is presented by the Coalition for Pay Equity, a group of organizations from the Charlotte area that have committed to making equity in wage earning a reality for women. This event will be a panel discussion moderated by Rev. Yolonda P. Holmes, who is the current chair for the Charlotte Women’s Advisory Board. The panel includes two experts on advocacy for women’s workplace rights as well as a touching personal story by Yvette Townsend-Ingram, The Best Advice I’ve Ever Received – A Black Woman’s Perspective on Pay Equity. The event will include a Q&A session with our speakers and will conclude with specific action items to help move the needle locally.

Wednesday, August 26, 6:30 – 8 PM
