Fair Maps – End Gerrymandering

common cause NC

Common Cause NC joins our partners in the nonpartisan NC Coalition for Lobbying & Government Reform to ask all candidates for the NC General Assembly if they pledge to support the creation of an independent, nonpartisan redistricting process for congressional and legislative districts in the upcoming 2019 legislative session.

And we’ve just published the results online at FairMapsNC.com.

Visit the website to find out where the candidates in your districts stand on this critical issue. If they have yet to respond to the pledge, reach out to them and ask them to do so. We will continue to add responses as we receive them.

The pledge is part of our ongoing effort to end gerrymandering in North Carolina and hold our politicians accountable on this issue. From the courtroom to community rooms across the state, we’re working tirelessly for a better process and fair maps.

Please share the pledge link widely and, if you can, chip in to support Common Cause NC so we can spread the word statewide.

The purpose of the pledge is only to advance the issue addressed: ending gerrymandering. Neither Common Cause NC nor the NC Coalition for Lobbying & Government Reform supports or opposes candidates. All legislative candidates were surveyed and given the opportunity to respond.
