March 8 is Charlotte Women’s Day

Mayor Vi Lyles has proclaimed that 3/8/18 is Charlotte Women’s Day!  Take pride in the strong, authentic leadership of women in Charlotte area communities.  “Equality for women is progress for all…” Wear purple today in support of International Women’s Day!

“WHEREAS, Charlotteans proclaim that equality for women is progress for all; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte will intentionally promote women’s advancement across all races, religions, classes, and professions in order to achieve equality; and

WHEREAS, our community will collectively campaign to end violence against women, and

WHEREAS, Charlotte will champion urban and rural women’s access to education, training and pathways to employment; and

WHEREAS, public and private organizations and all citizens in our community will explicitly celebrate women’s achievement:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Vi Alexander Lyles, Mayor of the City of Charlotte do hereby proclaim March 8, 2018 as “CHARLOTTE WOMEN’S DAY”

in Charlotte and commend its observance to all citizens.”
