The March Continues 9.1.17

Once again I am amazed by our group! I thought we were taking the summer off but our interest groups have been hard at work making a difference. Look at all we have done and what we have planned for the next month. Get ready to march!

Congratulations All. Your persistence paid off and Americans will have heath care benefits for a while longer. And Kudos to the two Republican women– Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski- for putting their convictions before party. We stand behind you. Keep up the good work.
Lillian’s List Matching Challenge Met! CWM members stepped up with over $3,000 of contributions to support Lillian’s List’s candidate recruitment, training and support efforts in North Carolina. These contributions were matched with another $3,000 by Marsha Ford and Heloise Merrill, for a total of more than $6,000. Lillian’s List’s good work for 20 years in North Carolina dovetails exactly with the goals of Charlotte Women’s March. Heloise Merrill has extra tickets and encourages you to join other CWM members in Chapel Hill at the Lillian’s List 20th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, September 16, 2017. For a free ticket (while they last) click here and more information click here

This 20 minute documentary highlights the challenges women face accessing services at the Latrobe reproductive health/abortion clinic in Charlotte. Our Women’s Health committee members volunteer to assist clients trying to access reproductive services. For more information click here
Restricting Clinics. The more abortion restrictions a state has, the worse women and children fare when it comes to their health outcomes.
