Peoples Climate March 4.29

Charlotte groups charter bus for Climate March on DC.

Join the Peoples Climate Movement this April 29th in Washington, D.C. and across the country to stand up for our communities and climate.

On the 100th Day of the Trump Administration, we will be in the streets of Washington D.C. to show the world and our leaders that we will resist attacks on our people, our communities and our planet.

We will come together from across the United States to strengthen our movement. We will demonstrate our power and resistance at the gates of the White House. We will bring our solutions to the climate crisis, the problems that affect our communities and the threats to peace to our leaders in Congress to demand action.Read More

Everything we have struggled to move forward in the United States is in peril. Our loved ones feel under siege, and those in power in Washington are advancing a dark and dangerous vision of America that we know is untrue. To change everything, we need everyone.

Clean Air Carolina and the Sierra Club have chartered a bus to leave Charlotte at midnight on April 28 to head to DC. We will leave DC around 6 PM and arrive back in Charlotte around 1:30 or 2 early Sunday morning.

Cost is $30 plus Eventbrite fee. We have about 20 seats left on the 55 seat bus.

  2. The Charlotte Women’s March is participating in March for Science in conjunction with Earth Day this Saturday, April 22 10-2 at Marshall Park in uptown Charlotte. We are not aware of any People’s Climate March scheduled here for the following weekend. You might check the national web site for more effective information.

Come join us at the March for Science.

  3. Also,Janice, June Blotnick sent us the following respone to your question:

We’ll be at the Science March with an exhibit and also will be speaking from the stage. We’ll have portable air sensors measuring particle pollution.

I’m pretty sure the NC League of Conservation Voters is organizing a local climate change march the following weekend while some of us with be in DC but I don’t see anything on their website.

    For cleaner air,
